Civil engineering relies on the high-quality resources such as the Key Discipline of Jiangsu Province, the Experimental Center of Engineering Mechanics (Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Higher Education in Jiangsu Province) and the Key Laboratory of Mechanical Structure Damage Testing and Evaluation Technology Machinery Industry, and created the “Construction Engineering” in 1998. In 1999, it was changed to "Civil Engineering" and enrolled so far according to the national professional catalogue adjustment. Civil Engineering is now a specialty of Jiangsu University certificated by a national engineering education (2016).
Since September 2011, the faculty has been enrolled in the civil engineering undergraduate program (in English, internationalization), and has enrolled 192 students. The quality of international students has been steadily improving.
