一、Introduction of the institute
Faculty members in the Institute of Engineering Mechanics include 5 full professors, 2 associate professors and 3 lecturers. We focus on the challenging topics related to mechanics in various engineering fields such as material science and engineering, mechanical engineering and civil engineering. Typical concerns are wide, e.g. stress analysis in complex engineering structures, damage and durability, soil mechanics, resistance and dynamics features of structures to earthquake. In recent years, we have launched 8 funds from national natural science foundation (NSFC), 10 province- and ministerial-level projects. 1 second-ranked award of national scientific advance, 1 ministerial award have been received. Around 150 research papers have been published, with 100 or so indexed by SCI and EI. One book has been published.
二、Brief CV of the head
Jinxing Liu, male, PhD, Professor, doctoral supervisor. He graduated as a bachelor from University of Science and Technology of China in 2002, then obtained his doctoral degree from Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. After that, he continued his research abroad, e.g. Singapore, Canada. His main research interests include: damage and fracture of heterogeneous materials, ductile failure in metals, multi-scale plasticity theory, constitutive modelling of advanced materials like metamaterials. He was named as the Jiangsu Provincial Specially-Appointed Professor in 2013, and the candidate for Jiangsu Provincial Innovation- Entrepreneur Plan. More than 30 SCI papers have been published. He has finished or been carrying on 5 projects of provincial-level and above.
