At 2:00 p.m. on May 29th, Jin Ruoyu, Jinshan Professor of Jiangsu University, from University of Brighton visited our faculty to make a report in the conference room 210 titled “Progress and Prospect of Prefabricated Building Research”. The report was chaired by Assistant Dean Han Yu. Some faculty members and graduate students participated in this academic activity.
At the beginning of the event, Assistant Dean Han Yu introduced Professor Jin's research field and research results. He pointed out that as a hot spot in the construction industry in recent years, the assembly-type building is considered to be a key construction technology for improving the production efficiency and even transformation and upgrading of the construction industry. The teachers and students in our faculty should grasp the opportunities and make achievements in the field of fabricated construction.
Prof. Jin introduced the progress and prospects of prefabricated building research from three aspects. First of all, Prof. Jin introduced the general situation of domestic and foreign research on prefabricated buildings. He pointed out that the prefabricated buildings in Northern Europe and Japan are better. He compared the cost, progress, and duration of prefabricated building cases between two companies in Japan. At the same time, some government support policies for prefabricated buildings in Shenzhen, Jiangsu, and Shanghai have been listed, which shows that assembly-type buildings in China are still a hot topic. Secondly, Professor Jin introduced his research on prefabricated buildings from the aspect of metrology analysis, such as how to use Scopus and VOS Viewer software to search articles and process the data to understand the research hotspots of prefabricated buildings. Finally, Prof. Jin introduced the problems and development prospects of the research on prefabricated buildings and pointed out that prefabricated buildings are still in the early stages.
Prof. Jin’s report was easy to understand, which attracted the strong interest of teachers and students. During the whole report period, Prof. Jin interacted with other teachers frequently. They discussed lively in prefabricated buildings. Through this report, a good atmosphere has been created for teachers in our faculty to cooperate with each other.
