From Aug.28th to Sep.1st, a delegation led by dean Prof. Luo went to Tokyo to attend the "10th session of the international conference on solid fracture and strength. The delegation included other 3 persons, Prof. Dai Heng Chen, Prof. Jinxing Liu and Dr. Lei Chen.
The conference, which was held by Tokyo University of Science, was the most important conference on the academic cutting edge of fracture mechanics and materials strength theory. Prof. Luo made a report on "Damage Identification of Reinforced Concrete Components Using Acoustic Emission Technique". After that, Prof. Liu and Dr. Chen also gave reports on “Strain gradient elasto-plasticity with a Taylor-based yield rule and dislocation reversibility” and “Stress analysis of V-shaped notch: experiment and theoretical Modeling” respectively.

During the session of the conference, the delegation visited the postgraduate students’ teaching and research office of Tokyo Institute of Technology. They also got to know Japanese culture and customs by communicating with scholars and local people.
