Our prof. Yizhou Chen had already been devoted to the mechanics research for more than 50 years. So far, he had completed 4 projects of National Natural Science Foundation, published 301 papers in the international journals in the field of mechanics. He made a great contribution to the study of the mechanics.

Although Prof. Chen had retired, he still insisted on doing scientific research and never stopped it. Every year, he had a large number of papers published and indexed by SCI. In 2014, Prof. Chen was elected with other 19 scholars form domestic famous universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Tianjin University, Zhejiang University and so on, whose papers were highly cited in the field of mechanics of materials in 2014 (In this list, Professor Chen ranked 12th).

Prof. Chen, who set a great example for the youth scientific and technological workers by his spirit of perseverance, gained the honor for our faculty and school.
