On Nov.14th, our faculty held a lecture entitled “Talking about university life” in the 3rd report hall of conference center. Prof. Daiheng Chen was invited to give the lecture.

Prof. Daiheng Chen recalled his early school years at Tsinghua University and described a period of different life time combing his own experience. Afterwards, he further sharedhis teaching experience in Japanand expounded Japanese college students’ study and life. He pointed out that students in Japanenjoyed various activities which enrich their university life. Moreover, they generally have independent consciousness and it’s rather common for them to geta part-time jobs during their study. In addition, Prof. Daiheng Chen took his own teaching as an example and gave some unique teaching methods and tasks to students which should be solved on their own. This reflected the importance of autonomous learning after class and accessing to information. He expressed his great expectation on the students, hoping that they could work hard to enrich their specialized knowledge, broaden their horizons and value their bright college years.

In the end, Chairman of Faculty Affairs Committee Zhang Hong, made a conclusion and showed gratitude to Prof. Daiheng Chen’s enthusiastic and humorous speech. She expressed her hope that more students should make clear goals about their study in the university.
