On April 28, the student union of our faculty held an academic salon on the theme of scientific research exchange. The activity aimed at helping the low-grade graduate students with more tools and techniques during their scientific research.

Dr. Hongying Zhang, a teacher from the department of mechanics and Engineering Science, firstly explained the meaning and role of an academic salon, and gave some suggestions about how to conduct functional academic activities. Then Dr. Zhang stated how to review literature, how to deal with difficulties in scientific research during the graduate study phase. All the suggestions were came from Dr. Zhang’s real research experience, from which our students got great benefit.

Besides, two senior grade students - Jianbo Zhou and Qidong Liu shared their successful experiences on paper writing and experimental progressing. At last, junior graduate students had a deep exchange with Dr. Zhang and other seniors.
