On May 12th, the department of civil engineering held a first lesson of “Practice for Broadening” for all the freshmen.

　　Deputy dean Fang Yingcai, College of Landscape Architecture, Jiangsu Polytechnic College of Agriculture and Forestry, was invited to give a lecture on practical operation and information technology development of civil engineering. Students made Luban lock by hand, mastered some woodworking processing methods and experienced the spirit craftsmanship through labor.

　　In the landscape planning and design center, students learned architectural knowledge and construction techniques of traditional Chinese garden. In the provincial virtual simulation training base, students experienced the combination application of the latest scientific technology and traditional engineering techniques.

　　Through this activity, students had a deep understanding of the learning objects and tasks of civil engineering in the background of new era.
