On the afternoon of October 13th, Mr. Yu Yile, Chairman of Suzhou Sushang Group, Mr. Wang Jun, General Manager of Dywidag Company's China Region, Mr. Yu Yiming, Alumni of Jiangsu University, Professor Wang Zhen, and Associate Professor Hu Yuqing from Southeast University visited our school for exchanges. Wang Jingquan, vice president of our school, Zhu Jianguo, president of the Structural Health Management Research Institute, and Luo Ying, director of the International Joint Research Center for Key structural Health Management of high-end equipment, received the visiting party in the conference room of the Lei Si Building.
Firstly, President Wang Jingquan introduces the bridge disease problems and demands, as well as the three research directions for the development of key components detection and equipment in bridge engineering.
Followed by that, Mr. Wang Jun, the regional manager of Dywidag China, elaborates on the application of oblique cable testing robots from three aspects: key points of oblique cable system testing, equipment application of oblique cable testing robots, and engineering case examples.
Finally, the participants conducted further discussions and exchanges on the research needs, difficulties, solutions, methods, and directions of the collaborative project "Research on Detection and Monitoring Technology and Equipment for Key Components of Large Bridge". The participants had a lively discussion and freely expressed their opinions.President Wang Jingquan pointed out that young teachers should actively participate in projects, each taking on a task for research. Teachers should conduct project discussions weekly, and companies should provide guidance from an industrial perspective monthly. This forms a quadratic collaboration between Jiangsu University, Southeast University, Sushang Group, and Dywidag Company to jointly promote project research.
Through this seminar, we further clarified the engineering difficulties and needs of detecting and monitoring key components of large-span bridges, the existing level of detection technology in the world, and the research objectives for technology and equipment for detecting and monitoring key components of large-span bridges.
